By engaging our guests through social media at Valencia Group hotels, we have found that we have the opportunity to reach them on a more personal level. We currently use the social media channels of Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter.
At Lone Star Court, we used these social media sites in our pre-opening as a way to engage guests before even opening our hotels using “Retro Wednesday” as a theme on Facebook to publish something every Wednesday to get guests excited and understand our new court concept. We posted everything from clothing popular in the 50’s and 60’s, to the price of food, and popular candy. This strategy really set the tone of our retro hotel concept.
After opening, we saw an interest in Hill Country weddings at our hotel and created a Pinterest page so brides could visit that page for ideas in our courtyard and plan their perfect day through the use of our inspiration page. Our brides love this page and the ideas range from everything burlap to drinks served in mason jars.
More recently, we have seen that the majority of our guests are taking to Instagram and Twitter, allowing us to really capture what they love about Lone Star Court. We really like the traction that some of our guest posts get with the number of likes and comments knowing that a single picture could go viral as these posts are seen by family & friends. And what better way for a hotel referral than family and friends!
In addition to being tagged and following what our guests are saying about us, we also enjoy posting what is going on at the hotel from happenings with our dog mascot Jack to posting pictures of special events like National Ice Cream Day.
It is marketing made easy because our guests engage in conversations with us and share their wonderful memories and experiences at our Hotels.
